Luminosity takes advantage of the Eclipse framework's plug-in capability and makes developing embedded applications easier. Plug-ins exist for each of the LynuxWorks™ standard development seat tools (compilers and debuggers).
Additional tools such as our SpyKer™ kernel and application trace tool may also be added to the development environment. Each is available via the toolbar in the Luminosity IDE:

Debugging applications is as easy as creating them. Simply click on the debugger icon and the application is downloaded to the target. The target's debugger server is automatically launched and communication with the host system is established. The debugger communicates via TCP/IP on a defined port. Multiple communications with the same target can be established by setting up communication channels on different ports.
The debugger window provides the option of viewing source code (C, C++), assembly, or both. Clicking on lines of source code easily sets breakpoints. Use the drop-down windows to view memory, registers, stack trace, threads, watch variables, and much more.
